Now I Understand

Salish Sea

Monday, February 22, 2021

Your rage, it is with me
Day spent gathering strength
Held back only by the depth of your sorrow
Refusing rain their tears, tempting to arrive

But gale-sent angry seas and frothing waves,
Hurling objects lessor restrained
Oh, don’t we wish we were these?
Launching projectiles of frustration and contempt
Dying in the sweet pain of glory for damage

Partners in crime, my wind and sea
But now I know,
You dance this dance today
–for me
