Mo’s Prose – Day 275 / Imagine Me

Padilla Bay Trail

Day 275 –Saturday, February 11, 2017

Imagine Me

Wandering with low intent,
Without the strictest time,
My camera spied a photo sent,
In crook of river line
Old building, stand you on the slough,
Your weathered boards to me
What’s your purpose, who were you,
What glory did you see?

Did you process food for us?
Did oysters grace your docks?
Weathered, dying wheels and tracks
Used for your tidal locks?
I’d like to know you, love to see,
Inside your storage bays
What vistas did they see through you,
When in your glory days?

Tidal ebb weaves vulnerable,
Your secrets under tide
Exposing any fables bent,
Displaying where you lied
If stories told, I’d listen well,
Your ending life did wreak
As still you stand, to show your hand,
Oh wish that you could speak
