Mo’s Prose – Day 285 / Radio Classic

Day 285 – Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Radio Classic

Driving through the miles between my heaven and my hell,
Radio rings classic music that I know so well
ZZ Top they made me smile, so did Talking Heads,
And who won’t light up, just a bit, from sounds of Grateful Dead?

I thought we’ve lost an era, and new music’s not the same,
That I too am “classic”,  –because “old” is such a shame…
Did our parents say the same, when oldies filled the air?
Does each generation cry laments for all their friends to share?

Later on, while Journey played and wheels kept on turning,
Anne Lennox kept the fires bright ‘cause she was burning
And no one can beat Aerosmith to help you walk this way,
But topped it with Santana, and wrapped up my classic day
