Mo’s Prose – Day 340 / Wee Friends

Day 340 – Monday, April 17, 2017

Wee Friends

Sometimes when I get away, far from the maddening crowd,
Sunlight filters through the trees where deep breaths are allowed

Heart rates slow, I missed this so, my secret running trail,
But walk’s divine, and pleasures mine, to share as pups prevail

And even though it’s close to home, it’s rarely I will see,
More than a few who wander too, but mostly –it’s just me

It’s then I can release the hounds, –on itty bitty scale,
With bounding, chasing, wait-for-me! Exuberance in a tail

Seniors in their stature now, mere puppies still at heart,
Keep their pack together sure, they wait for me to start

I’m not sure who is smiling more, my face or drooling tongue,
A run ahead, come back instead, and bounce like crickets sprung

And even though they need a hand, a carry now and then,
I’ll gladly hold them safe in mine, my tiny furry friend

I can’t improve this scene for me; there is no better still,
Four-legged friends, until our ends; your love, my heart, our will

    1. Thanks! My little furry buds get me choked up some times. I really do enjoy writing these and am not 100% sure what I’ll do after 365. I’ll keep going but may back to 1 a week so I get some more sleep 😉 Or not! Lol
